Portfolios: Proof-of-Concept Projects - For Classified Employees

NOTE: This page needs to be updated to be relevant to classified employees. The criteria below were originally copied from the 2009 redesign of basic certification for teachers.

For each module, each participant will create a proof-of-concept project that demonstrates their mastery of the skills introduced in that module. Each proof-of-concept project must meet these requirements:
  1. The project uses the tool introduced. (This can be the desktop or online version of the tool, whichever is most appropriate.)
  2. The project addresses a curricular standard.
  3. The project incorporates elements of each of the following best practices:
    • CLAD Strategies
    • Overt Student Responses
    • Writing Across The Curriculum
    • Positive Reinforcement
    • Data Driven Inquiry and Decision Making (Module 4 Only)
  4. The final product is something the teacher would use or that a student would create.
  5. The final product can be posted on the certification wiki as an example for others in the district.

Each participants' final online portfolio will thus include four proof-of-concept projects - one for each module of certification:
  1. Module 1 - Internet and Email
  2. Module 2 - Word Processing
  3. Module 3 - Presentations
  4. Module 4 - Spreadsheets

These four projects will appear on the participants' blogs, which will serve as demonstration of mastery of module 5.
